First outfit post in ages for two reasons. Firstly I have to admit feeling a little bored with my wardrobe at the moment. I am cursing past Megan for haphazardly putting together a wardrobe where hardly anything goes together. For example I had this skirt for ages (the full skirt trend is one that I hope sticks around because I love it) but every time I wore it I found that none of my tops looked good with it.

Full skirts can be unflattering at the best of times without me wearing a top that makes my boobs look like they are under house arrest. Finally it was clear that I needed to invest in a top that would go with this skirt and other high waisted pieces in my wardrobe. I searched everywhere for a cropped top but one that wasn’t too cropped, important distinction and found this one at Bardot. When wearing a full skirt with a fuller figure I definitely think cropped tops work best to ensure that you don’t add excess bulk to any area.

This top has been on constant rotation ever since I bought it. I am slowly learning to identify gaps in my wardrobe and only purchase pieces that will compliment my pre-existing wardrobe.

Secondly I haven’t been super happy with my outfit post photos lately, except when I have managed to wrangle someone in to taking them for me but this isn’t always possible. Ages ago Jiawa from Closet Voyage told me to get a remote control for my camera rather then relying on the self timer. I finally did that this week and I can definitely tell a difference in the quality of my photos specifically in relation to the focus being clearer. It you are in the position of taking a lot of your blog photos yourself (whether or not its for outfit posts or cooking, fitness, lifestyle etc) I can definitely recommend getting a remote this one was only $35. I am now also considering getting a remote for my iPhone… It is honestly one of those blog tips I should have implemented ages ago.

So tell me do you take your blog photos yourself or do you have a helper?

Gorgeous skirt! I have a bit of a fear of the crop top. I am a bit old fashioned. That’s a nice length though. Lovely photos

I take my own photos too and really should get a remote rather than running around for the self-timer!! :0

Love what you’ve done with the skirt! I find with my personal styling clients, the key to creating a versatile wardrobe is having great basics that help showcase all of the statement pieces. I like the the tee you’ve chosen is tailored along the body; with fuller skirts it’s important to define the waist so well done!

I promise that a remote will change your life, I am kicking myself for not doing it along time ago.

I definitely need to build up my good basics!! Thanks for the comment 🙂
